About

I originally started Elm Tree Words as a part-time endeavour helping business owners repurpose their content. So many were reinventing the content wheel rather than working and spending time on the activities they actually enjoyed and made them money.

In reality I ended up spending more time “cleaning up” the original content in order to get it ready to be repurposed. I also found I enjoyed the cleaning up and detail checking more than the actual process of repurposing.

Which kind of made sense.

See for years friends, family, and colleagues have sent me work to look over before they submit or sending it around for comments and feedback from supervisors and colleagues. Before they hit send, published it to their website, or sent it to print.

You know the person who reads something and secretly winces and can’t unsee spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, or wonky formatting? That’s me. And if you didn’t know such people existed, they do, and you want us on your team, checking every line, paragraph, page, and link.

I’d love to hear what you’re working on, have coming up, or are planning for the future. Send me an email hello@elmtreewords.com or get in touch here.

Take care,
Andrea

And now for some random facts (because this is often the best part of an about me page)…

  • I used to be a competitive synchronised swimmer, coach, and judge.

  • I can’t imagine a world without painters, potters, musicians, writers, poets, singers, dancers, and artists of all kinds.

  • My (Aussie) partner and I met while on a three day bus tour in Ireland (true story). We moved to Australia in 2010, and have a son and a daughter, two cats, and a house surrounded by hills, trees, birds of all sorts, and the occasional sighting of wombats, echidnas, kangaroos, or wallabies on walks around our local ponds and creek.

  • I’ve worked in universities and not-for-profits leading teams, running programs, and writing policies, procedures, strategies, reports, articles, and other documents. Leading, coaching, supporting, writing, editing, and formatting have been, and continue to be, core to my work.

  • If you’re interested, you can find my CV here.
